The Murray-Darling Basin Commission library is located in:

The library is staffed part time, currently on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from approximately 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Services provided

The library provides the following services

assistance in using the library and in using the library's catalogue
user training sessions

undertake and assist in research with:

  • quick reference queries to more in-depth research
  • production of bibliographies
inter-library loans for the supply of books not held in the library and also photocopies of articles from journals not held locally (Commission staff only)
new titles listings produced monthly. These list a selection of books and annual reports received during the reporting period, as well as citing articles that may be of interest to Commission staff in general
access national and international databases, as well as several CD-ROM titles such as Streamline, ARRIP and ABOA
purchase new library material and maintain both book and journal collections on the library's catalogue, Athena

 

Who can use the library

The library's priority clientele is Commission staff. However academics, students, consultants, etc. do have access to the collection, when the library is staffed.

Loans are organised via a user's institutional or organisational library and treated as an inter-library loan. A 3 week loan period applies for inter-library loans.

A photocopier is available for limited use. The ACLIS charging rate of A$13.20 per book or photocopy applies. The Library is a member of the Environment Libraries Network (ELN) and waives charges for other member libraries.
