Letter from the Editor

Hi Kids,

So that's it, another year of school done, or nearly done! You are all probably very excited to be on, or nearly on, holidays now. We hope you have fun during the summer holidays doing lots of things with your family and friends.

I will be visiting my family, who live on the coast near the beach. Maybe some of you will be at a beach too, or by a river or creek? Maybe you will just relax at home doing nothing much at all! Remember, wherever you are, keep up all the good work with your water-wise habits across the Basin.

This month is the end of the year and also the end of the MDBC as it has existed for the past 20 years. The MDBC has now become the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA), so you will see a few changes in The River and website. The MDBA will continue to manage the water resources in the Basin, which you will hear all about in upcoming issues of The River.

We hope you enjoy your summer holidays and wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

We will see you in 2009 with all the new happenings across the Basin.
