Answers to last month's Quick Questions
- The Canberra Raspy Cricket gets its scientific name from the aboriginal word 'Cooraboorama', which means 'monster', due to the size of its head. Canberrae comes from the word Canberra, where the species is found.
- Carp. About 300 people went fishing to help clean up the Namoi River system by removing carp from the water. This will help improve the river habitat for native fish because carp cause problems in the river environment.
- The dam was built almost 100 years ago. Construction started in 1915 and finished in 1924.
